DECATUR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Will assist our citizens during this difficult time by offering a specific delivery service. Those that are unable to acquire essential items such as groceries and medication may set up a delivery. We can assist you in transferring animals to and from the veterinary clinics and also assist in delivering legal documents for signatures if it is sealed. We will not deliver from restaurants. We will be limiting it to once a week per family. You will be responsible to set up the pickup and payment method. Deliveries will be made Monday through Friday 8-5 unless exigent circumstances exist. Times may vary depending on emergency situations that may arise. Please call Dispatch at 785-475-8100 for more information or to set up a delivery.
GRAB AND GO MEALS
Grab and go meals are FREE for any child, ages 1-18, who lives in Decatur County.
Call (785)475-2231 on Mondays to let them know which days of the week and how many children will be eating on those days. If you decide you want to continue, call the school and tell them you are in for the rest of the school year.
In order to provide FREE meals, we have to follow certain guidelines. One of those is that the kids MUST be present to get the meals, which is why Wendy Jacobs is working so hard to figure out a delivery system. Please be patient.
We prefer the "drive through" option so that we can avoid students congregating, BUT we also understand that for older kids who can’t drive, they will need to walk to the school to grab their lunch. IF your kids are walking, PLEASE don’t allow them to walk with friends - only siblings.
For our kids who live in the country and can’t get to town, we are still working on that plan, but we haven’t forgotten about you. Stay tuned!
